Isn’t it interesting when M. O’Hare was running around trying to advocate atheism on the social level and when the whole academia was in pursuit of getting rid of the unsophisticated religious/spiritual mindset, bunch of hippies found themselves in India trying to find enlightenment. Further, the cause of atheism still have a long way to go b/c the New Age Movement is still going strong in the West.  It’s more like the west has abandoned their Christian foundation and embraced the eastern spiritualism to fill in the spiritual vacuum.  On a personal note, I find it rather amusing how myself who is from the east is embracing Christian teaching while the whole west is abandoning their Christian roots and running towards eastern spiritualism.
